The corner of French and Schomberg Roads was a busy spot Sunday.

Holy Rosary Church of Isadore hosted its annual dinner and summer festival where 1,436 people enjoyed baked chicken with all the fixin’s, including dressing made by parishoner Barb Flores.

“We had a steady line all day at both the take-off line and the parish hall,” said Weber, who helped organize the event. “We had very little food left over to sell, which is great because our crews work so hard.”

Not only did those in attendance eat, but a greater number than usual stayed on church grounds to play Bingo, enjoy children’s games or buy raffle tickets, Weber said.

Terri Cunningham won the top prize of $5,000 cash. Theresa Petrowski won second prize, $1,000 cash from the Ed & Irene Fleis family. Ryan Ratajczak won $700, donated by the family of Iva Weber and Ted and MaryLou Fleis won a Casio piano which the donated back.
