You live in Leelanau County because: I fell in love with someone from this county who had his life and family established here, and because you will never find a community as special as this one anywhere else. It is priceless!

Last good movie you saw: The Artist, a 2011 French romantic comedy drama in the style of a blackand white silent film. I only saw it because my friends made me go out. I liked that it was a grown up movie — with the kids I only ever see Dora and Diego.

Last good book you read: My life is pretty full running two businesses and a household with three children and a husband. It’s all I can do to keep up with local events and industry trends, so all I really have time to read is the Leelanau Enterprise and my fitness and collision repair subscriptions.

If you could trade places with one person for a day, who would that be: My younger sister, Michele, so that I could better understand her life and what she has going on in order to be a better sister to her. A sister that is able to offer the kind of love, assistance and support that she needs.

Things important to you that you have accomplished so far: Putting myself through college to earn my BA in science degree, working as a software engineer for Verizon for 10 years, being successful in the fitness industry for over 19 years, having a loving and supportive marriage and for successfully raising four children.

What you hope to be doing in 10 years: I want to be traveling more and spending more time with my kids, friends and family.

Things you lose sleep over: Hoping that I was the best daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend that I could have been. Wondering if I was able to be there for all those that needed me and that were there for me.

If you could change one thing in Leelanau County, it would be: More opportunities for young people to set up their lives here and start their families.

Favorite dessert: Any kind of gummy candy, but if gummy candy didn’t count anything that Jane Keen makes.

Are you a coffee drinker: Yes, must have one cup every morning. Black & Sweet, but with flavored creamer as a treat.

Favorite place in Leelanau County: Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive.

If you have more time, you would: I would get caught up on my digital media, like photographs, and spend time with friends.
