Two-day Art Fest in Suttons Bay

Work by more than 100 artists from the county and all over the country will be featured this weekend at the 33rd annual Suttons Bay Art Festival.

“We have about every medium represented,” said Donna Popke, member of the art festival committee.

Paintings, photography, ceramics, wood, jewelry, wearable art, sculpture and furniture are among the areas in which participating artists work.

Suttons Bay’s marina park is the setting for the festival which is set for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The committee is also hosting a pancake breakfast from 8:30 to 11:30 Sunday morning.

Proceeds from the event are returned to the community in the form of grants supporting the arts. Previous gifts include a marimba, which went to Suttons Bay School’s band program and financial support of the Leelanau Children’s Choir and Youth Ensemble.
