To the Editor:

A huge thank you to this wonderful community that we live in and especially to St. Mary School children and Lake Leelanau Excavating. The clothing drive that was started in January to raise 2012 pounds of clothing for Afghanistan Refugees managed to reach over 4,000 pounds in less than four weeks.

This was only made possible by our students and the community around us. Dave and Dorothy Couturier allowed us to use an empty office space to house all of the clothing while sorting and boxing took place. Generous hearts for sure! Advantage Electric helped with the delivery.
