Bridge Walk just around the corner
It’s hard to believe that it is almost Bridge Walk time. This year’s collector T-shirts are available at Dune Dogs in Glen Arbor and at Roman Jones in Empire. There may be another location soon. Gettum while they’re hot.
The Port Onieda Fair seemed to be bigger and better as far as attendance is concerned. I know a lot of people stopped by to tell me how much they enjoyed it.
As the summer winds down don’t forget that commemorative bricks are still available for the park in Glen Arbor. Contact Terry Gretzema at the township offices.
The Glen Arbor Sidewalk Sales will be held starting today, Thursday through Saturday starting at 9 a.m. each day. Deals on this summer’s merchandise, if any is left.
Condolences to the many friends and relatives of Ben Whitfield. Ben was Township supervisor for many years and he is the reason I am a township trustee.
Happy Birthday wishes to Margeret Gass of Fisher Point, Ms. Gass will be 95. Also I think I missed Rosemary Friend’s birthday, she is not 95, but I know how old she is. Happy Birthday to both of the ladies, and a special Happy Birthday to Marge Walker, my older sister.
Can you imagine someone stealing a bench from the Village Sampler? There was a bench in front of the Yarn Shop and someone apparently needed a bench and took it. The bench belonged to the Village Sampler shopping area.
There was a bridal shower held this past weekend for Krista Rogers who is going to marry Andy Soderholm. I don’t usually write about such things, but this is interesting as the theme for the shower was a 1950's luncheon which but a few if any knew anything about. I understand that they did well however.
This week’s winner of the Empire Lions Club Lucky 13 drawing was not me, but it was Dan Oberschulte. Congratulations.
It’s hard this time of year. Go Sox and Bears.
