A company was hired last week by the Solon Township Board to clean and paint the kitchen of the township hall.

The board unanimously accepted a quote of $2,230 last Thursday from Higher Ground Services Inc. of Lake Ann.

Clerk Shirley Mikowski said the bid was for cleaning, sanding and painting walls and cupboards in the kitchen, and organizing items in the cupboards.

Higher Ground was the only bid considered or sought by the board.

“We’ve had them powerwash the exterior of the hall and they did a very thorough job,” Mikowski said.

The clerk said scheduling the work will depend on when the facility is booked in coming weeks.

“We need to find a period of time when there are no rentals,” she said. “I’d expect it should be within the coming month.”
