Shooting stars
THE CEDAR Rod & Gun Educational Foundation and the Ruffed Grouse Society-LaGrande Chapter held its third annual “Dare to Shoot Doubles” tournament at the Cedar Rod & Gun Club on Aug. 5. Fifteen two-man teams competed. All proceeds from the event went toward funding youth shooting events at the club. Above, top teams in clays event were, from left, Denny Norman, Carl McClain, Fritz Barratt, Tim Stein, Rusty Gregg and Dick Held. Barratt and Stein won the event with an 86. McClain and Norman were second at 79. Below, from left, are McClain, Norman and Mark Sierzputowski. They were top finishers in the “Flurry” event. McClain won it with a 17.
