Collector T-shirts ready for bridge walk
CAR LOVERS have been gathering in Glen Arbor on Thursdays from 6:30-8:30 p.m. throughout the summer to look at and talk about their pride and joys. There are no awards, but anyone who likes cars and has something of interest, domestic or imported car or motorcycle is invited to Northwoods Hardware. It’s getting close to bridge walk time and the collector T-shirts are now available at Dune Dogs and Art’s T-shirt shop in Glen Arbor and at Roman Jones in Empire. As always, the shirts are $15 and the proceeds go to Scout pack 111.
This week’s winner of the Empire Lions Club Lucky Thirteen drawing is George Wilson, congratulations.
The Dune Dash was held last weekend running from the Dune Climb to Glen Haven and back, probably five miles or maybe a little more. It wasn’t very well publicized, and I don’t know much about it other than Hana Wilcox was first in her age group and Stacey Wilcox finished.
The sidewalk sale days in Glen Arbor seemed to be well attended and traffic was pretty heavy.
Just a reminder about how fortunate we are to have the Emergency Services we have in Glen Arbor and Empire. In the month of August they had 84 total responses, 58 of which were medical. In addition the commitment these people make is really something just in August, there were an additional 62 training hours.
Maple City artist Don Drabik will open an exhibit of new watercolors on Friday the 24th which will run through the 30th at the Center Gallery in Glen Arbor for more information call 334-3179.
We are in the locals time of summer, weather is good, stores, etc still open and we are able to get to them.
Go Sox and Bears.
