S-B refund?
The Village of Suttons Bay may get a refund from Consumers Energy because of a miscalculation of how many street lights the power company has in operation in the village.
At its regular monthly meeting Monday evening, the Village Council voted 7-0 to authorize village manager Wally Delamater and clerk Dorothy Petroskey to update a contract with Consumers Energy once figures are finalized on exactly how many streetlights the company has been providing and powering.
Documents provided by Consumers indicated roughly 90 streetlights were in operation in the village, but village officials say the real number is closer to 70. Village officials say they could be refunded about $5,000 for the discrepancy, although exact figures had not yet been determined.
The updated Consumers Energy contract was the only action item on the agenda of this week’s Village Council meeting, which adjourned after just 10 minutes.
