Hohnke Rd. improvements considered
Improvements to Hohnke Road east of Co. Rd. 643 to the shore of Lake Leelanau are under consideration in Centerville Township.
Herb Cradduck, manager of the County Road Commission, attended the Aug. 14 meeting of the Township Board with a preliminary cost share proposal for consideration. As proposed, the township’s share of the cost in a 50/50 arrangement with the commission, is $17,000.
Board members took no action on the proposal preferring instead to review the township budget and defer a decision until its next meeting which is Sept. 12 at the township hall.
In related action, the board approved a $1,798 quote from Schaub Outdoor Services for improvements to the handicap access at the township hall. A railing for safety is needed as well as replacement of the handicap sign.
