Suttons Bay community shows support for Jelinek family

Response to the death of Jeremy Jelinek of Suttons Bay has been overwhelming.

“It’s amazing how the community has come together to help us,” said Mandy Jelinek, his widow and mother of his three children, ages 4, 3 and 6 weeks. “All the prayers and the kindness … making sure we have the essentials we need.”

Immanuel Lutheran Church in Suttons Bay is taking donations to establish a trust for the Jelinek children, according to the Rev. Kent Lee. Checks, made out to Immanuel Lutheran Church, can be mailed to P.O. Box 206, Suttons Bay, MI 49682. Please put “Jeremy’s fund” in the memo, Lee said.

An account has also been established in memory of Jeremy Jelinek at Fifth Third Bank in Suttons Bay. Donations can be made at any 5/3 branch.

In addition to financial assistance, St. Mary School has launched a drive to collect infant/toddler items including diapers and food, etc.

Further information about that effort is available by calling 256- 9636.
