Library expands ice cream social

Leland Township Library is expanding its patron appreciation ice cream on the lawn event Friday, Aug. 8, to include music, lunch and a children’s reading program drawing.

“We will endeavor to thank all the patrons who make our library so special,” assistant librarian Donna Stowe said.

Library officials are seeking musicians to participate in an acoustic jam session as part of the End-of- Summer Celebration and Patron Appreciation Event.

“The more the merrier … This is a great opportunity for musicians to gather, have fun and support the library to boot,” Stowe said.

“Every musician who is loose enough to try out a few oldies by goodies, or can strum along with a few chords would be greatly appreciated.”

The celebration, scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. will include free hot dogs, walking tacos, chips and drinks along with music.
