Judge Philip E. Rodgers Jr. accepted one plea and sentenced another man on Monday in 13th Circuit Court.

• Juan P. Gonzalez, 38, of 1066 N. Eagle Hwy. in Lake Leelanau, was sentenced to one year in jail with credit for 198 days served, held in abeyance, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Gonzalez was also placed on probation for 36 months.

• Ryan A. Sova, 29, of Wyoming, pleaded guilty in 13th Circuit Court to probation violation.

Sova was picked up on a bench warrant on Oct. 13 and is currently residing at the Leelanau County Jail.

The charge stems from a 2012 conviction of drunken driving, third offense. At that time, Sova had called Leelanau County 9-1-1 to report that he was lost and stuck somewhere in the southern part of the county. According to police reports, deputies located Sova, who was lost and stuck, but also intoxicated with a Datamaster breath test showing a blood alcohol content of .20 percent.

A presentence investigation has been ordered for Sova and his sentencing has been set for Dec. 1.
