Heritage Festival returns to Leland

The annual Leland Heritage Festival takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday with live music and dining and shopping specials. Events include a Classic Car Show sponsored by Van’s Garage, the 12th annual Wooden Boats on the Wall exhibit sponsored by the Leelanau Historical Museum, and a used book sale at the Leland Township Library where books will go for $5 a bag.

Sewer group to meet in Empire

Get involved and attend the Empire Village Wastewater Committee meeting. The group will meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Empire Township Hall, where members will continue working on a wastewater system feasibility study. A proposal by Gosling Czubak to complete the study failed at the last council meeting on a 3-3 vote.

Learn how to cut cable at workshop

Learn how to ‘cut the cord’ from your cable TV provider and get programming you want through the Internet and over-the-air digital broadcasts at a workshop at 1:30 p.m. next Thursday, Sept. 22, at the Leland Township Library. The workshop will cover options available in Leelanau County. Call 256-9152 for more information.
