Suttons Bay soccer part of Homecoming

The Suttons Bay Homecoming tradition continues in 2016 even though the football season has ended. On Friday, a homecoming parade will kick off at 5 p.m. through Suttons Bay, followed by a chili supper from 5-7 p.m. in the school cafeteria. The soccer game versus Glen Lake starts at 7 p.m. on the football field, with the crowning of the king and queen taking place during halftime.

Voters can meet their candidates

Candidates for the Leelanau County Board of Commissioners will be front and center at two upcoming events. GOP candidates will be attending a Leelanau County Republican Party “meet and greet” planned for 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the VFW Post on M-204 in Lake Leelanau. And the League of Women Voters Leelanau County will hold a candidates’ forum starting at 7 p.m. next Thursday, Sept. 29, at the Elmwood Township Hall.
