Congratulations to the Glen Lake football team on their big wins.

Glen Arbor Art Association Readers’ Theater auditions will be held on Monday, Oct. 10, for "The Bishop’s Wife" at the Glen Lake Community Reformed Church. The show calls for four men, five women and five parts that can be male or female. For digital scripts or additional information contact director Teddy House at teddyh@centurytel.net.

Staying with the Glen Arbor Art Association’s Readers’ Theater, Radio Days is a nostalgic look back at the golden era of radio. This production is actually two playlets. Dates for the performances are October 14-15 at 7:30 p.m. at the Glen Lake Community Reformed Church.

Empire is becoming the vegetable festival leader. The Empire Hops Festival will be held Saturday from noon until 10 p.m. on front street. Food, Drinks and music. There is a $15 entry fee, very reasonable, and you get to keep the souvenir glass.

Staying with Empire, The Empire Area Museum Complex will celebrate Heritage Day on Saturday, Oct. 8 from 1-4 p.m. Included will be a presentation by soprano Elizabeth Mitchell and tenor Ted Badgerow. Called the Dodworth Duo, they will be strolling the grounds while entertaining. If you have never seen it, this museum is incredible even if it was a big city museum.
