Weather knocks out power

More than 70 Consumers Energy customers in Leelanau County were without power Monday due to the weather.

Utility spokesman Terry DeDoes confirmed Tuesday that 73 Consumers customers lost power Monday evening and early Tuesday morning.

Some 72 households and businesses in the Lake Leelanau area were without power from 7:52 to 10:50 p.m. Tuesday.

One other residence near Omena was out of power from 7:44 p.m. to 1:14 a.m., DeDoes added.

Cause of the outage in both cases were weather related, DeDoes said.

No outages were recorded by Cherryland Electric Cooperative.
