Please note that these two public notices for Elmwood Township did not run properly in the Classified Section, and are being published below in their entirety.

Elmwood Township Notice to the Public

Notice of Public Hearing on the Special Assessment Roll for the Blue Ridge Lane, Old Orchard Road and South Orchard Way Special Assessment District Public Act 188 of 1954, as Amended

Elmwood Charter Township Leelanau County, Michigan

TO: THE RESIDENTS AND PROPERTY OWNERS OF LAND WITHIN THE SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT AND ANY OTHER INTERESTED PERSONS

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the township supervisor/township assessor has reported to the township board and filed in the office of the township clerk for public examination a special assessment roll prepared by him/her covering all properties within the Blue Ridge Lane, Old Orchard Road and South Orchard Way Special Assessment District. The special assessment roll has been prepared for the purpose of assessing the costs of the maintenance, snow removal, and lighting on roads within the Special Assessment District. The assessment is in a total amount of $14,740.00 for 2016 and will be re-evaluated on an annual basis for one more year.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the township supervisor/township assessor has further reported that each eligible parcel of land within the Blue Ridge Lane, Old Orchard Road and South Orchard Way Special Assessment District will pay an annual assessment computed in the following manner: improved parcels will be assessed $190.00; vacant parcels will be assessed $35.00.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the township board will hold a public hearing at the Elmwood Charter Township Hall, 10090 E. Lincoln Road, Traverse City, Michigan on October 10, 2016, at approximately 6:05 p.m. for the purpose of reviewing said special assessment roll and hearing any objections thereto. The special assessment roll may be examined at the office of the township clerk during regular business hours of regular business days until the time of the public hearing and may further be examined at the public hearing.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that appearance and protest at this public hearing is required in order to appeal the amount of the special assessment to the State Tax Tribunal if an appeal should be desired. A property owner or party in interest, or his or her agent, may appear in person at the public hearing to protest the special assessment or may file his or her appearance by letter delivered to the township clerk on or before the day of the public hearing and his or her personal appearance shall not be required. The property owner or any person having an interest in the property subject to the proposed special assessments may file a written appeal of the special assessment with the State Tax Tribunal within thirty (30) days after confirmation of the special assessment roll if that special assessment was protested at this public hearing.

Centerville Township Notice to the Public

Synopsis of Regular Bd. Meeting for September 14, 2016

Board members Kelenski, Wurm, Pleva, Schwantes, and Peplinski were present. Three Land Use Permits were issued in August. The planning commission continues to propose updates to the zoning ordinance based on the master plan and will be approved as public hearings are completed. Board members approved the Tax Rate Request placed on the December tax bills for General Township Operational millage at .5821 Mils and 1.0 Mil for Fire/ Ambulance as approved by the township voters at the August 2016 Primary election. The next regular board meeting is Wed., October 12, 2016, at 7 p.m. at the Centerville Twp. Hall. Draft minutes are available on the Twp. website at www.leelanau.cc or by request at 228- 7663.

Solon Township Board Notice to the Public

Special Meeting Minutes
Synopsis for 09/13/2016

Supervisor Lautner opened the special meeting at 7:30 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Four Board members were present.

Four guests were present.

The following actions were taken by the Board:

Approved the agenda with a change to item six.

Approved making changes to the contract with AJ’s Excavating for the recycling site improvements as follows: delete the Sub Grade Undercutting, Type II and the Driveway Reinforcing Concrete, 6 inches, add M-Dot 6-A Crushed Stone and three additional Cedar trees. The deductions and deletions are not to exceed the original contract price.

The new contract amount will be agreed upon by AJ’s Excavating and signed by the supervisor.

Approved the treasurer’s report and payment of vouchers.

Approved to accept the bid from Weber Excavating to tear down the out building by the ball park to be completed by November 15, 2016.

Approved the Allocated Operational Millage amount of 0.6031 and the voted Fire/Ambulance Millage of 1.5000 to be levied December 1, 2016.

Suttons Bay Village Council Notice to the Public

Synopsis of Suttons Bay Village
Council Regular meeting of
September 19, 2016

Regular meeting called to order at 5:30 p.m. Quorum present.

Present: Bahle, Brandt, Bumgardner, Christensen, Hollander, Hylwa and Johnson.

Council approved the minutes of August 15, 2016, regular council meeting and August 22, 2016, special council meeting. Council approved payment of bills.

Council approved an amended motion which allows an engineering evaluation by Fleis and Vandenbrink, in the amount of $12,800.00, to be performed on the three streets and intersections, to further develop design options and a cost analysis, out of the 2016 budget.

The meeting adjourned at 5:55 p.m.
