Art is in season; time to fall for it

Tis the season ... for art! Several events this weekend will have local artists strutting their artistic stuff, and shoppers browsing and buying. The weekend is highlighted by Fall For Art in Leelanau at galleries across the peninsula, along with opening and closing ceremonies. Then there’s the annual Fiber Festival at the Old Art Building, and even an arts and crafts show in Lake Leelanau. Coverage in Section Two.

Walk to help fight local, world hunger

Get off the couch and make your way to Omena for the 26th annual Leelanau CROP Walk that starts at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Omena Presbyterian Church. Walkers will make a 3.5-mile loop around Omena Point, raising money for disaster and hunger relief throughout the world. Twenty-five percent of money raised stays in Leelanau County and will benefit Leelanau Christian Neighbors.
