Suttons Bay Village Council

Synopsis of Suttons Bay Village Council Regular Meeting of October 17, 2016.

Regular meeting called to order at 5:30 p.m. Quorum present.

Present: Bahle, Brandt, Bumgardner, Christensen, Hollander, Hylwa and Johnson.

Truth in Taxation Public Hearing was held.

Council approved minutes of September 19, 2016. Council approved payment of bills.

Council approved 2016 Budget Amendments. Council adopted the maximum millage rate allowed by Headlee of 9.3239, to support the proposed 2017 Village budget. Council approved the 2017 Schedule of Fees and the proposed 2017 Budget.

Council accepted the proposal from Elmer’s in the amount of $15,500.00 to install a gravel pathway.

Council approved the Resolutions of Appreciation for those whose terms were expiring.

The meeting adjourned at 6:07 p.m.

Kasson Township Notice to the Public

The Kasson Township Planning Commission will hold a series of Public Hearings on Monday, November 21, 2016, at 7 p.m. at the Kasson Township Hall, 10988 Newman Rd., Maple City, MI.

Leland Township Board Meeting

The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Cal Little, with Clerk Jane Keen, Treasurer Shirley Garthe and Trustees Tony Borden and Tim Cypher and 11 guests present. The agenda was approved. Minutes were approved for September 12, 21 and 29. The Treasurer’s Report was approved. The following board actions were taken:

 Adopted a zoning ordinance amendment for Fishtown Historic District

 Approved emergency sidewalk repairs

 Reappointed Jon Stimson and Tony Borden to the ZBA

 Approved bills and accounts

Board comment and public comment were heard. The meeting was adjourned at 8:53 p.m. Minutes are on file at the Leland Township Office, 123 N. St. Joseph St., Lake Leelanau, and on the township Web site at www.leelanau.cc/ lelandtwp.asp.

Public Hearings-Leelanau County Road Commission

The Board of County Road Commissioners has scheduled public hearings during their Tuesday, December 6, 2016 regular meeting at 1:15 p.m. at the Suttons Bay garage located at 10550 E. Eckerle Road, Suttons Bay, Michigan.

The purpose of this public hearing is to listen to comments/questions concerning the proposed 2017 Road Commission budget.

Empire Township Board Minutes

The following is a synopsis of the October 11, 2016 regular meeting of the Empire Township Board. A complete copy of the minutes may be obtained by contacting the Clerk at 231-326-5349.

Supervisor Noonan called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Members present: Deering, Neiswonger, Price, and Deegan. Minutes of the 09-13-16 regular and 9-20-16 special meetings were approved.

Actions approved by motions: 1) Approved moving site 41 at the campground across from site 60 and making it a new group site. 2) Amended 2016/2017 FY budget. 3) Paid monthly bills.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:14 p.m.
