Pay tribute on Veteran’s Day

Friday is Veteran’s Day with a ceremony planned at the Veteran’s Memorial at the county complex in Suttons Bay Township. A story appears in this section explaining that the event will begin at 11 a.m. Also, the Northport Highlands assisted living and memory care facility in Northport is inviting veterans and their families to enjoy free coffee and doughnuts. Hot coffee and treats will be served up from 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Dine with a new retiree

Head to Empire on Saturday for the Pat Zoyhofski blow-out retirement party. Everybody is welcome to come and say good luck to Zoyhofski, who has been the Empire Village clerk for 44 years. The party runs from 4-8 p.m., with dinner being served from 5-7 p.m. Attendees are welcome to bring their favorite dish to pass. For more information or to lend a hand please call 326-2051.

Coffee with library director

Have your morning coffee and doughnuts at an open house Monday to say hello to Bradley Chapin, the new director of the Suttons Bay- Bingham District Library. Chapin, of Traverse City, is the former director of the Kalkaska County Public Library, a post he has held since 2011. Everybody is welcome to attend the event being held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the library.
