Congratulations to all the elected officials in the Glen Arbor and Empire area. I’m sure you will all do a great job. To those who were not elected, the best thing to do is support those that were. As an aside, that goes for national and state elections, also.

If you haven’t gotten everything done in or around your home or you needed help, it is not going to happen for a couple weeks. After all, it’s deer hunting season.

Don’t forget the benefit dinner being held at the Empire Methodist Church from 4:30-7 p.m. Friday to assist with the medical expenses of Koren Egeler.

Just like last year, we have had great fall weather. I’m not sure what’s predicted for winter, but we all know this is not going last so get ready.

I’m going to put the schedule for Thanksgiving weekend in now so that everyone can be ready. First eat too much on Thursday and watch football. On Friday head to Glen Arbor as long as you’re still up from Black Friday. The Glen Arbor P. J. Party will be held from 5-8 a.m. Deals, deals, deals. Friday beginning at 6:30 p.m. will come the Christmas tree lighting, Christmas caroling and the preview of the Holiday Marketplace at the Township Hall.

Saturday is the Holiday Marketplace from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with of course the arrival of the Royal family of Christmas. The Clauses are normally on hand from 10:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.

In Empire, the Artisans Market at the Town Hall will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., normally with the tree lighting coming after 5 p.m. in the village.

There’s going to be a lot of people on the road over the next couple of weeks and weekends, so be careful. We want you back.

Happy Birthday wishes to Bill Baxter, Rich Quick, Chris Shugart and Harvey Warburton.

Keep your head down in the forest and be careful on the roads. The deer will be squirrely this time of year.

Be safe, have fun, be kind. Go Hawks
