Used furniture stop opens

Samaritan’s Closet will now have two locations and will hold an open house from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at it’s newest location in the back of the Connie Binsfeld building in Lake Leelanau. And don’t forget to visit the original store on Lake Leelanau Drive, which will be open its usual hours — 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. — both Friday and Saturday.

Church speaker was once atheist

Hear the inspirational message of the Rev. Ingolf Schmidt, who was born in Communist East Germany and grew up an atheist. He was born again while serving as a soldier in the Communist Army. Schmidt, who also found an underground church forbidden by the government, will be speaking the 7 p.m. service on Wednesday at Leelanau Community Church, 245 S. Lake Leelanau Dr., Lake Leelanau.
