Suttons Bay plans holiday weekend

The Suttons Bay Chamber of Commerce is planning a big weekend, starting with a Holiday Stroll from 5-8 p.m. Friday when the streets will be lined with luminaria and more than 50 decorated trees. Family Day on Saturday will kick off from 10 a.m. to noon with children creating crafts and writing letters to Santa at the Suttons Bay-Bingham District Library, followed by a $1 showing of “Finding Dory” at the Bay Theatre. Santa arrives at 5 p.m. And reindeer and elves will entertain youngsters from noon to 3 p.m. at Enerdyne and Brain Storm!

Leland hosts a Merry Marketplace

Get a jump on your Christmas shopping at the annual Merry MarketPlace event being held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Old Art Building in Leland. And right next door at the Leland Township Library, meet a local author or pick up a game, puzzle or movie while supporting a good cause — the library. The Book Expo and game sale take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

More Christmas around the county

Buy some homemade holiday treats at the annual Cookie Extravaganza being held from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Suttons Bay Friendship Center. Then head north from noon to 4 p.m. for a tour of the Grand Traverse Lighthouse decorated up for the holidays before heading back to Cedar for the Make and Take Christmas Party being held from 2-4 p.m. All supplies are provided for this crafty event.
