Film series at national park

If you enjoy films and national parks, try stopping by the Visitor Center of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore on Saturday.

Park staff will present short films taken at a number of national parks at noon at the Phillip A. Hart Visitor Center in Empire.

The Centennial Film Festival will last between 2 and 1/2 hours and is free. Visitors are welcome to watch as many or as few films as they like.

The final event is the last of several hosted by the National Park Service (NPS) for its year-long centennial celebration. The NPS was created by an act of Congress in 1916, and now includes 413 individual park sites that encompass some of the most beautiful and important natural, cultural, and historical resources in the United States.
