Michigan law requires local governments to inform their citizenry through public notices published in newspapers of record for their communities. Foreclosure By Advertisement Notice Of Sale

NOTICE UNDER MCL 600.3278: Pursuant to MCL 600.3278, if the property is sold at a foreclosure sale under MCL 600.3201 et seq., the Mortgagor will be responsible to the person who buys the property at the mortgage foreclosure sale or the mortgage holder for damaging the property during the redemption period.

MORTGAGE SALE – Default has been made in the conditions of the following Mortgage Agreement (the “Mortgage”) made by NM Investment Company, LLC, a Michigan limited liability company, of 74 West Long Lake Road, Suite 101, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48304 (the “Mortgagor”), to Satori Corporation, of 8349 Ridge Mor Court, Grand Blanc, MI 48439 (the “Mortgagee”), dated August 10, 2006, and recorded on October 15, 2006, at Liber 911, Pages 398 through 416 inclusive, in the Office of the Register of Deeds for Leelanau County, Michigan. The Mortgage was subsequently modified by a Mortgage Modification Agreement dated October 6, 2006, which was recorded at Liber 917, Pages 796 through 800 inclusive in the Office of the Register of Deeds for Leelanau County, Michigan.

As of October 26, 2016, there was due in principal and accrued interest to October 26, 2016 a total of $1,398,870.20 with interest continuing to accrue at the regular rate called for in the Mortgage and Mortgage Modification Agreement and, if applicable, at the default rate of interest, plus applicable late charges and any other amounts, as set forth in the Note secured by the Mortgage.

No suit or proceedings at law or in equity have been instituted to recover the debt secured by said Mortgage, or any part thereof.

Under the power of sale contained in said Mortgage and MCL 600.3201 et seq., notice is hereby given that said Mortgage will be foreclosed by public auction of the mortgaged premises, or some part of them, at the front entrance of the Circuit Court Courthouse, Leelanau County Courthouse, 8527 E. The Leelanau County Government Center will be closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, January 16, 2017.

As approved at the Leelanau County Board of Commissioners Board meeting and as approved in the Leelanau County Personnel Policy Manual and the Teamster’s Local #214 union contract, Martin Luther King Day is a holiday and shall be observed.

Leelanau County Road Commission Public Hearings

The Board of County Road Commissioners has scheduled public hearing during their Tuesday, February 21, 2017 regular meeting at 1:15 p.m. at the Suttons Bay garage located at 10550 E. Eckerle Road, Suttons Bay, Michigan.

The purpose of this public hearing is to listen to comments/questions concerning the proposed changes to the Road Commission’s Seasonal Road system.

Any questions about this hearing should be directed to the Road Commission office. Northport Village Master Plan

Education Discussion Group

The Village of Northport Planning Commission is updating the Village Master Plan. The updated master plan will be a guide to help shape local land use and other community decisions. It will prepare the Village for changing needs and will allow for informed decisions about transportation, housing, infrastructure, recreation, land use, the economy, and overall quality of life. As part of the Master Plan update, the Planning Commission will host a series of Master Plan Discussion Groups to gather ideas and information about specific community topics.

All are welcome and invited to the next Master Plan Discussion Group, which will be held Tuesday, January 17th and will be a recap of the previous planning meetings to date as well as a preview of future meetings. Subsequent meetings with various other emphases will be held on February 21st, March 21st, and April 18th all at 7:00 PM, at the Leelanau Township Fire Hall located at 100 West 8th Street, Northport, MI 49670.
