Once again, and as usual, the weather is the normal topic of conversation at this time of year — although it really is rather amazing that there is so much ice, snow and cold temperatures with all the hot air going around about the election. Deal with it.

I have been asked to make it clear that the Mostly Music Winter Series presentation on Sunday will not be a nostalgia program. Folks expecting to hear an evening of Dorsey, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman music may be disappointed when they hear those older bands for only the first 15 minutes. Bob Foskett will use those bands as a departure point and will spend the bulk of the time showing the development of modern big band jazz away from being simply dance background music.
