Public Notices

Michigan law requires local governments to inform their citizenry through public notices published in newspapers of record for their communities. Elmwood Township Notice To The Public

The Township Board of the Charter Township of Elmwood held a regular meeting on January 9, 2017. The complete minutes of the meeting may be viewed online at leelanau.cc/elmwoodtwp. asp or at the township office during normal business hours. The meetings may be viewed on Govt. The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Susan Och, with Clerk Jane Keen, Treasurer Shirley Garthe and Trustee Michael Collins, and 20 guests present. Trustee Tony Borden was absent. The agenda was approved. Minutes were approved for December 12, 2016. The Treasurer’s Report was approved. The following board actions were taken:

 Agreed to offer the position of fire and rescue chief to Daniel Besson

 Endorsed the Kristie Yaakoby Memorial Triathlon for June 17, 2017

 Adopted resolutions to collect 2017 summer taxes for Leland and Suttons Bay schools and TBAISD

 Reappointed Elmer Hohnke, Brad Muir and Jon Stimson to the Board of Review

 Appointed Mark Galla to the Sewer Commission

 Approved bills and accounts

Solon Township Notice to the Public

PUBLIC HEARING

The Solon Township Board has scheduled a PUBIC HEARING for Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 7:30 pm in the Cedar Fire Department Meeting Room, 8907 Railroad Avenue, Cedar, MI to receive public comment on the proposed Parks and Recreation Plan and to receive public comment on the proposed Cedar River Project.

The Parks and Recreation Plan and the plans for the Cedar River project are available upon request by contacting the Township Clerk @ 231-228-7578 or can be viewed on the township website at www.leelanau.cc. Written comments may be sent to Solon Township P.O. Box 253 Cedar, MI 49621 or FAX (231) 228- 7579.

Cleveland Township Board Proceedings

The following is a synopsis of the January 10, 2017, meeting of the Cleveland Township board. The complete minutes are available from the Township Clerk. Supervisor Stein called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Five members were present. No guests were present.

Agenda was approved as presented.

Approved minutes of the December 13, 2016 meeting.

Received Treasurer’s report and approved payment of bills.

Received Supervisor, Planning Commissions, and Zoning Administrator’s reports.

The board approved the collection of the summer taxes for Leland School District.

The board adopted the Resolution of Intent to Create Special Assessment District.

The Board adopted the Resolution Scheduling Public Hearing on Proposed Establishment of Special Assessment District.

Public comment was held. The meeting was adjourned at 7:42 p.m.
