Hall pleads not guilty to felony

HALL HALL A 21-year-old Suttons Bay man waived his preliminary examination on a felony charge of fleeing and eluding a police officer and pleaded not guilty to the charge at his Circuit Court arraignment held Tuesday in 86th District Court.

Leroy J. Hall III, of 11195 E. McKeese Road, also pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor charge of drunken/impaired driving, second offense. If convicted, Hall will also be charged as a two-time habitual offender, prosecutors say.

The charges stem from a Christmas Eve incident in which Hall is accused of running a stop sign and leading a Grand Traverse Band tribal officer on a chase reaching speeds of 90 mph before crashing into a snowbank, according to a court report.

Hall is currently being held on a $50,000 cash/surety bond. He was convicted of fleeing and eluding in January 2014.

His next court date has not yet been set.
