Town or township of residence: Lake Leelanau, in Leland Township.

Resident of county since: I’ve been a resident since 1958. Both my parents were from Leelanau County, and when my dad died in 1958, our family moved up to Leland where my mother was from.

Age and birthplace: Age 66, born in Greenville, Michigan.

Occupation: Office manager at the Leelanau Enterprise.

Marital status (including children): I’ve been married to Jim for 47 years and we have three grown children.

You live in Leelanau County because: I grew up here and love it. And all my family lives here.

Last good movie you saw: “Fences,” with Denzel Washington.

Last good book you read: I don’t usually read books as I fall asleep. I like to read short stories in Readers Digest and other magazines.

If you could trade places with one person for a day, who would that be: Someone who is researching Alzheimer’s Disease. It runs in my family, so it’s important to us.

Things important to you that you have accomplished so far: I worked for 30 years at the Leelanau Enterprise. Staying in a job that long is kind of unusual these days. I’m also proud of my marriage to Jim and our three wonderful children.

What you hope to be doing in 10 years: In 10 years I hope I am alive and healthy and traveling throughout the good old U.S.A.

Things you lose sleep over: I usually sleep pretty well. Lately, though, I’ve been worried about making sure my replacement at the Enterprise is properly trained.

If you could change one thing in Leelanau County it would be: There would be higher paying jobs.

Favorite dessert: Anything chocolate, and my daughter Kristy’s cheesecakes.

Are you a coffee drinker: No coffee, but I do enjoy a frozen mocha from Pedaling Beans every once in a while.

Favorite place in Leelanau County: There are so many beautiful places in Leelanau County, but I especially enjoy my lake lot on south Lake Leelanau. It’s so very peaceful.

If you had more time you would: Spend more time with my two beautiful granddaughters, Ella and Lena. I’d also explore the trails in the county and do some volunteer work.

The words that best describe you are: Optimistic, caring and hard-working.
