The upside is that we are on the downside of winter. This really has not been a bad winter at all.

Coming up St. Patty’s day with pub crawls and all the amenities, more later.

Saturday, March 4, at the Empire Town Hall a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the final burning of the Empire Lumber Company Mill. There will be a DVD of the history of the Empire Lumber Company and Museum maven Dave Taghon will explain everything. The presentation will begin at 7:00 PM and will include free popcorn and water. The Empire Museum is probably one of the best small museums I’ve ever seen and in order to continue to be the best donations are appreciated.

I may not be an expert on the subject, however I think that although trolling is a given fishing technique, trolling on the ice on a snowmobile is not the best technique to use. This was proven and, thanks to our Emergency Services, the fisher folks in question were not hurt, just wet and very cold. I can’t say as much for the snowmobile.

Happy birthday wishes to John Rude, Bernard Meehan, Bob Jones and Steve Glazier. I’m sure I missed some people so happy birthday to all of you.

Obviously winter is not over, more than obviously be careful on the ice.

Have fun enjoy the snow and what is left of the weather.
