No sense trying to deal with ‘irrational’ behavior

To the editor:

The nearly hysterical letters raving about the Trump presidency have finally gotten to me. Listen up, people, your side lost. Accept it. Instead of “resisting”, as if President Trump were some sort of foreign invader (other than the kind you like, such as illegals and potential jihadis), try putting up a program for which people will vote. For example, demanding to see the President’s tax returns is not a program. It’s just a distraction. The Libs just want to comb through them, shouting about this and that, to try to distract and delegitimize the presidency.

There is not a shred of evidence to support the false narrative that the Trump campaign somehow colluded with the Russians to throw the election to the former. Why would Putin want a US president who promised to strengthen our military? The whole story is made up by Hillaryites unhinged by their loss. So stop yipping about “the seriousness of the charge” and do something constructive.

Congressman Bergman won’t meet with people who just want to shout at him, curse him, and try to intimidate him? Fancy that. I wouldn’t either. Why bother with people who hate you, didn’t vote for you, and aren’t going to? The Left’s seditious, nearly insurrectionist, violent rent-a-mob campaign will only cost it more votes next year. In the meantime there’s no point in trying to deal rationally with such irrationality. One last point, regarding Trump’s travel ban. It should be wider. The Jordanians, not on the list, favor sharia law by about 70 percent, according to a recent Pew poll. Most Muslims polled do. Admitting people who have nothing in common with our culture, or values, or system, is a recipe for disaster. Courts have no jurisdiction over foreign policy; Trump should ignore them and make us safer.

We know that Russia

We know that Russia intervened in the U.S. presidential election to try to help Trump win. We know this because the intelligence community has concluded this. Isn't it time the Leelanau Enterprise stopped printing false information like that contain in the above letter? For Heaven Sake - in the interest of journalistic integrity…
