VanderWall to speak to GOP woman’s group

Curt VanderWall, the newly elected State Representative of the 101st District, will be the guest speaker for the Republican Women of Leelanau County luncheon.

The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Tuscan Bistro restaurant.

VanderWall plans to summarize the first quarter of legislative activities in Lansing.

The public is invited to attend and meet VanderWall. He is filling the seat formerly occupied by Ray Franz who was term limited.

Like Franz, VanderWall is a business owner who has served in various capacities in local government, including as a county commissioner in Mason County. VanderWall now serves as District chair for MSU Extension.Heisalsoaahuntersafety instructor.

The club is planning to honor a Leelanau County veteran at each monthly luncheon. The January honoree was Bill Peace, and Don Swendemann was recognized last month.
