JASON BRADFORD, pictured at the Breslin Center in East Lansing on Friday, guided the Glen Lake girls basketball team to a 23-4 record this year. Name: Jason Bradford.

Town or township of residence: I live in Empire. I’m only two-and-a-half miles away from the (Glen Lake) school.

Resident of county since: For 13 years now.

Age and birthplace: 39 and Traverse City.

Occupation: Teacher, coach, husband and father of five.

Marital status: Married to Jackie (Bradford). She still puts up with me.

You live in Leelanau County because: I live in Leelanau County because I grew up not even 45 minutes from here, and also because it’s God’s country, as they say. You’ve got the four seasons and the lakes; and when I was younger, we delivered bees up here to different orchards. I knew it would be a perfect place to raise a family.

Last good movie you saw: The Jason Bourne movies. I like all the action.

Last good book you read: (Assistant girls basketball coach) Bob Ewing picked it up. It’s called “Running the Show,” a coach’s book.

If you could trade places with one person for a day, who would that be: Either a cattle rancher out west or maybe an NBA player.

Things important to you that you have accomplished so far: I’ve got a great family and five kids. I’ve been teaching and coaching for 15 years now. I’m proud of that, influencing a lot of students and athletes throughout my life. And, the most recent one, the basketball team making it down to the Breslin.

What you hope to be doing in 10 years: Continuing to watch my kids grow up. Teaching and coaching. Enjoying the outdoors; hunting, fishing and gardening. And spending time with my family.

Things you lose sleep over: Life’s too short to lose sleep and I’m too tired to lose any. If I ever have, it’s been a big loss.

If you could change one thing in Leelanau County, it would be: There’s nothing really to change, but I wish summers lasted longer.

Favorite dessert: My wife’s cheesecake. She’s a very good cook. I’m surprised I don’t weigh more than I do.

Are you a coffee drinker: Occasionally. We put the heavy whipping cream in there.

Favorite place in Leelanau County: Probably out in Glen Lake with the family on the boat.

If you had more time you would: Spend it with my family. Between coaching and teaching, the evenings come too quick.

The words that best describe you are: Patient, laid back, understanding and friendly.
