Downstate man charged with felony drunk driving


GONZALEZ GONZALEZ A 42-year-old Wyoming, Mich., man pleaded not guilty at his 13th Circuit Court arraignment held Tuesday to a charge of felony drunken driving.

Roman G. Gonzalez was bound over for trial after waiving his preliminary examination on the charges.

Gonzalez was arrested March 10 after being stopped for speeding on South Good Harbor Trail north of Cedar, according to a court report.

He is currently free on a $50,000 cash/surety bond.

Gonzalez has three prior drunk driving offenses from 1999, 2002 and 2011, all out of the Grand Rapids area.

If convicted, Gonzalez will be sentenced as a three-time habitual offender.

Gonzalez was arraigned on Tuesday for felony drunken driving and for being a habitual offender.

His next court date has not yet been set.
