Short-term rentals headline event

The Leelanau County Planning Commission is holding its Annual Spring Session at 7 p.m. Wed., April 19, at the County Government Center in Suttons Bay Township.

The starts at 6:30 p.m. with a social gathering and light snacks.

This year’s event features a panel of guests who will share their experiences with short-term rentals. The panel includes a business owner, realtor, township official, and an attorney.

Discussion will cover such things as the advantages and disadvantages of short-term rentals, neighbor and community concerns, and local regulations, including whether to regulate or not. The discussion will be followed by a question and answer period.

The session is open to the public and will be particularly beneficial for appointed and elected officials, assessors, zoning administrators, planners and local businesses.
