Public Notices For Leelanau County

Michigan law requires local governments to inform their citizenry through public notices published in newspapers of record for their communities. These notices provide residents with an easy path for following the work of their elected officials. Public notices for Leelanau County can also be accessed online at Leelanaunews.com.

Notices that can be found in Section Three of this week’s Leelanau Enterprise include:

 Leelanau County Government Center will be closing at noon on Friday, April 14, 2017, in observance of Good Friday.

 Village of Northport will be picking up leaves and brush this year at street edge on Mondays and Fridays beginning April 17.

 Village of Northport Planning Commission is updating the Village Master Plan. The updated master plan will be a guide to help shape local land use and other community decisions.

 Solon Township Planning Commission Meeting Notice Fiscal Year 2017-2018.

 Solon Township Planning Commission has scheduled a public hearing for Tuesday, May 2, at 7:30 pm to receive public comment on a request from Longview Winery, LLC to convert an existing wine tasting room to a one room motel.

 Board of County Road Commissioners has scheduled a public hearing during their Tuesday, May 16, 2017 regular meeting at 1:15 p.m.

 Synopsis of Suttons Bay Village Council Special Council Meeting of March 28.

 A special meeting of the Northport Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) Will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the Village Hall, 116 West Nagonaba Street. Purpose of the hearing is to consider a request from Frank Goodroe.

Public Notice

The Leelanau County Government Center will be closing at noon on Friday, April 14, 2017, in observance of Good Friday. As approved at the Leelanau County Board of Commissioners Board meeting and as approved in the Leelanau County Personnel Policy Manual and the Teamster’s Local #214 union contract, Good Friday is a holiday and shall be observed.

Public Notice

NOTICE OF MORTGAGE FORECLOSURE SALE (LEELANAU COUNTY) – MORTGAGE SALE – Default has been made in the terms and conditions of a certain Mortgage made by David J. Regner and Regina R. Regner, Husband and Wife, to Fifth Third Bank (N. Michigan), and dated October 26, 2005 and recorded on January 13, 2006, in Liber 887, Page 945, Leelanau County Records, Michigan. Said Mortgage is now held by Fifth Third Bank, an Ohio Banking Corporation. Notice To The Public

The Village of Northport will be picking up leaves and brush this year at street edge on Mondays and Fridays beginning April 17, 2017. If you have bags and wish to use them, the DPW will continue to pick them up this spring.

Village of Northport Master Plan

The Village of Northport Planning Commission is updating the Village Master Plan. The updated master plan will be a guide to help shape local land use and other community decisions. It will prepare the Village for changing needs and will allow for informed decisions about transportation, housing, infrastructure, recreation, land use, the economy, and overall quality of life. As part of the Master Plan update, the Planning Commission will host a series of Master Plan Discussion Groups to gather ideas and information about specific community topics.

All are welcome and invited to the next Master Plan Discussion Group, which will be held Tuesday, April 18th, 2017, 7:00 PM at the Leelanau Township Fire Hall located at 100 8th St, Northport MI 496701.

Public Hearings-Leelanau County Road Commission

The Board of County Road Commissioners has scheduled a public hearing during their Tuesday, May 16, 2017 regular meeting at 1:15 p.m. at the Suttons Bay garage located at 10550 E. Eckerle Road, Suttons Bay, Michigan.

The purpose of this public hearing is to listen to comments/questions concerning a Petition to Abandon County Road petition for a platted, undeveloped alley, Plat of Brown’s Addition to the Village of Leland.

Any questions about this hearing should be directed to the Road Commission office. Persons with disabilities requiring special needs are asked to notify the Road Commission 24 hours prior to this meeting.

Suttons Bay Village Council

Synopsis of Suttons Bay Village Council Special Council Meeting of March 28, 2017.

Special Meeting called to order at 7:30 a.m. Quorum present. Present: Bahle, Case, Christensen, Hylwa, Johnson, Lutke and Suppes. Council approved moving into a CLOSED SESSION for the purpose of discussing strategy and negotiation sessions connected with the negotiation of two collective bargaining agreements with Teamsters State, County, & Municipal Workers, Local 214, as permitted by MCL 15.268(c). A special meeting of the Northport Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA)

Will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the Village Hall, 116 West Nagonaba Street. Purpose of the hearing is to consider a request from Frank Goodroe, 122 West Third Street, Northport (property ID# (042-450-066- 00-10) for an appeal of the Village Zoning Administrator’s decision that a ‘rooming house’ rental use is in violation of the Village Zoning Ordinance, (CR-1) Commercial/Residential District. The appeal is for an interpretation of the Village Zoning Ordinance November 2006, Article 12, CR-1 Commercial/ Residential District, 12.02 Uses Permitted by right.
