Mann honored at Night to Remember

Congratulate Leland resident Marlis Mann as she is honored with the 8th annual Owen Bahle Award for Service at the Suttons Bay Rotary Club’s “An Evening to Remember” at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the Leland Lodge. Tickets are $50 per person; proceeds support a host of Rotary youth programs.

Variety of music for spring concert

Don’t miss the Leelanau Community Choir spring concert series being held this weekend. The “Blues, Bluebirds and Blue Skies” concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Leland Community Methodist Church, at 3 p.m. Sunday at Suttons Bay Congregational Church, and at 7 p.m. Sunday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Glen Arbor. The choir is under the direction of Jonah Powell.

Dogs, owners help park visitors

Head to the Philip A. Hart Visitor Center in Empire at 11 a.m. next Wednesday, May 10, for orientation and training on how to be an ambassador for the Lakeshore and give visitors info on pet policies and pet safety at the park. You do not have to own a dog to become a Bark Ranger, but if you do, leave them home for the orientation. Those who have dogs will be given four-legged ranger gear.
