SEVERAL KIDS participate in a shipwreck rescue during Glen Haven Days at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore last year. This year’s event takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Join Sleeping Bear Dunes park rangers and volunteers on Saturday at Glen Haven Village and the Maritime Museum for a unique look back in time at Glen Haven Days.

The annual event takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Glen Haven Village, located off M-109 in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

Join park rangers and volunteers for hands-on activities that will bring Michigan’s maritime history from the early 1900s to life.

Watch a blacksmith at the forge, discover the unique history of one of the area’s founders and visit a general store.

People of all ages can also learn how different tools used in logging shaped this area, participate in a shipwreck rescue and more.

While you’re at it, take a walk or a bike ride on the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail, which goes right through Glen Haven.

All activities are free with a valid park pass.
