Jewelry store celebrates 20 years

Korner Gem, a full-service jeweler in Elmwood Township, will kick off a twoweek “20-year customer appreciation event” on Saturday.

According to an ad in this week’s paper, the business will slash prices by between 20 to 70 percent. The sale excludes consignment and labor.

Online shoppers can receive the discount by punching in “KG20years.”

Cherry Republic opens store No. 6

Cherry Republic’s newest store, Cherry Republic of Holland, will hold its grand opening celebration on Friday.

The event will be highlighted by Cherry Republic traditions that began in Glen Arbor, like cherry pit-spitting and pie-eating competitions.

The celebration will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the store, which is located in the downtown shopping district.

Leland adds another art gallery

Greta Stimson, owner of Greta’s in Leland, will open a new art gallery in Leland tomorrow night.

The Catbird Seat, which will showcase a collection of local art and other artistic creations, will host a grand opening from 5 to 8 p.m.

Artists on hand will include Elizabeth Conger, Kay Doyle, Tracie Herkner, Amy Radford, Jason Rollings, Liz Saile, Lori Wilcox and Michelle White.
