Glen Lake library begins weekly summer sessions

The Glen Lake Community Library in Empire will begin its summer season of children’s programs next Thursday, June 22, with a gardening workshop by environmental educator Lori Sanders.

Programs will take place Thursday mornings at 11 a.m. through Aug. 17, featuring a variety of educational and entertaining activities for kids and families

The library will also host a summer writing class for children in grades 4 though 6.

The class will be led by children’s author Kit Robey, who will help participants create their own short stories.

Six weekly sessions will take place on Friday mornings from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. beginning June 23.

It’s a free course limited to eight students, with registration open until the class is filed.
