Suttons Bay musician to play in Boston

Natalie Myers of Suttons Bay will be in Lenox, Mass. next month participating in Boston University’s Tanglewood Music Institute.

Myers, the 17-year-old daughter of Dolly Martinson of Suttons Bay, graduated summa cum laude from Interlochen Arts Academy and will be attending the University of Michigan on a scholarship.

She began her horn studies at age 12. Her primary teachers include Dr. Gustavo Camacho of Western Washington University, Brad Gemeinhardt of the Metropolitan Orchestra of New York, and Corbin Wagner of Michigan State University and the Interlochen Arts Academy.

A 2017 Grand Traverse Musicale scholarship winner, Myers will perform a Strauss French horn solo June 24 at a joint concert of the Northport and Northwestern Michigan College community bands at Milliken Auditorium in Traverse City. The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m.
