The Coxes met after Robert moved north and lived down the road from his future wife while both were in school. “We were neighbors,” explained Diane.

Robert Cox and Diane Bright were married on June 18, 1977, at Glen Lake Reformed Church in Burdickville, with the Rev. Russell Lautner officiating.

Robert is a self-employed tile technician with his son, while Diane is night lead custodian at Glen Lake Community Schools.

The couple has two children who both reside in Lake Ann: Erin (Chance) Gallagher and Michael (Penny) Cox. They also have six grandchildren — and a golden retriever named Cora Beth.

A private anniversary celebration with family was hosted earlier this month by the Gallaghers in Lake Ann.
