Trail section closed for routine maintenance


A SECTION OF HERITAGE TRAIL will be closed this week for annual maintenance. Completion of the project depends on weather. A SECTION OF HERITAGE TRAIL will be closed this week for annual maintenance. A two-mile section of the Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail will be closed for annual maintenance work until the end of this week, depending on weather conditions.

The trail is closed from about the north boundary of The Homestead Resort — where the trail surface becomes gravel — to Port Oneida Road.

Signs are posted at access points to the section of the trail. Hikers on the Bay View hiking trail will not be able to hike the lower Bay View trail loop due to the work.
