Glen Arbor, home to dogs, bikes and scooters

It might be my imagination, but it seems to me that Glen Arbor has become a huge dog park. Personally I can’t understand why you would bring a dog to a crowded area such as the Fourth of July “anything goes” parade or any other really crowded area. I cannot believe that the animal enjoys it and to expect people to get out of the way of your dog is just a tad ridiculous.

Along with the dog park, I have never seen as many bicycles as I have this year. I understand and appreciate bicycle riding, but to all the bike riders out there that may read, go with traffic, stay off the sidewalk, pedestrians have the right away. I’ve seen groups of riders going the same direction on both sides of the road, which is really very dangerous as the cars don’t know who’s going where.

Staying with weird stuff, I saw two semi-adults on motor scooters driving on the wrong side of the road. I guess they thought they qualified as a bicycle and can ride anywhere.

Coming up:

• The annual Glen Lake Women’s Club Art Fair in Glen arbor on Wednesday, July 19.

• Empire Anchor Day on Saturday, July 15.

• The annual Running With The Bear in Glen Arbor on Tuesday, July 25

Thank you to everyone who worked hard to make this past Fourth of July holiday safe as always, I’m sure the parade was outstanding thanks to everyone.

Who says we don’t have fireworks in Glen Arbor? Did you go down to the beach and look up and down? Amazing fireworks.

Happy birthday wishes Christina Carels, I’m not sure when, but in July.

Be careful, be kind, be happy.
