You live in Leelanau County because: It’s my birthplace, my home, and I have too much pride and love for our area to be gone for too long.

If you could trade places with one person for one day, it would be: Our National Cherry Queen, Miss Abbey Kaufman.

Things important to you that you’ve accomplished so far: I’m very passionate about fashion design and my entrepreneurial spirit drives me daily. I’m proud to have been given the opportunity to go to New York Fashion Week this past winter, and I was also elected the Fashion Show Production Director of our Senior Fashion Show this past spring. I’m addicted to school, and I’m proud of my background in Fashion Retail Management at Haystacks and my plans for my own future retail store, Poppy Things.

What you hope to be doing in ten years: By 27 I hope to open Poppy Things in Suttons Bay, Leland, or Traverse City and offer affordable and unique clothing to women of all sizes.

Things you lose sleep over: I’d have to say excitement over future plans, and finding a career when I graduate in December.

If you could change one thing in Leelanau County it would be: I would put a bridge over South Lake Leelanau for a faster commute.

Favorite dessert: Chocolate Mousse

Are you a coffee drinker? I like my cream with a splash of coffee.

Favorite place in Leelanau County: North Beach in Leland - I love to look for Petoskey stones and Leland Blues.

If you had more time you would: Volunteer more: at all animal shelters, and for the Cherry Festival’s Green Team.
