Nelson lists accomplishments

In his resignation letter, former superintendent Chris Nelson listed these accomplishments while at Suttons Bay Public School:

 Lifting the high school out of “focus school status” in math; elementary in writing.

 Investing in students with a new K-12 English/language arts curriculum and K-6 math curriculum.

 Surpassing five other district in the Intermediate School Diustrict for total academic proficiency.

 Passing a 10-year technology, transportation, and facilities bond.

 Passing a 7-year sinking fund proposal.

 Pulling the school district from a $1.2 million deficit.

 Reinstituting the school’s “yellow bus” program.
