Public Notices For Leelanau County

Michigan law requires local governments to inform their citizenry through public notices published in newspapers of record for their communities. These notices provide residents with an easy path for following the work of their elected officials. Public notices for Leelanau County can also be accessed online at Leelanaunews.com.

• Elmwood Township Board will hold a public hearing and consider the adoption of a new Zoning Ordinance to regulate land uses in Elmwood Township, at a meeting to be held on Aug. 14.

• Bingham Township regular board meeting synopsis for July 17.

• Suttons Bay Village Council meeting synopsis for July 17.

• The Kasson Township Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, Aug. 21 at 7:00 PM. The purpose of the hearing is to consider granting a Special Use Permit to Block Solid, LLC to construct a 40’x64’x14’ storage building on parcel 045-007-023-004-70.

• Centerville Township regular board meeting synopsis for July 12.

Regular meeting called to order at 5:31 p.m. by President Lutke. Quorum present.

Council adopted the Water Ordinance as Ordinance 3 of 2017 as presented, and the Ordinance shall become effective twenty days following its publication of the Ordinance or a synopsis of the Ordinance, in a newspaper of general circulation in the Village.

Council adopted the Sewer Ordinance as Ordinance 4 of 2017, as presented, and the Ordinance shall become effective twenty days following its publication of the Ordinance or a synopsis of the Ordinance, in a newspaper of general circulation in the Village.

Council adopted the Mass Gathering Ordinance 5 of 2017, as presented, and the Ordinance shall become effective twenty days following its publication of the Ordinance or a synopsis of the Ordinance, in a newspaper of general circulation in the Village.

Council acknowledged receipt of the Village Financial Statement Audit for year ending December 31, 2016.

Council accepted the UPEA proposal of November 3, 2016, to perform St. Joseph Streetscape Design and Construction Engineering for a not to exceed fee of $67,500.00, and authorize signatory authority for the Manager to execute a Service Agreement with UPEA on behalf of the Village.

Council approved the amended 2017 Fee Schedule as presented.

Council appointed Kathy Egan to fill the remaining term as a Suttons Bay Village Council Trustee beginning July 18, 2017 and ending November 20, 2018.

Architect, Andy Rink plans to have preliminary drawings available for our August 9th meeting for the plans on the upgrade of the lower level of the Centerville Township Hall. No Land Use Permits and no Land Divisions were issued in June. Board of Review members David Borton, Margaret “Peggy” Cova, Jamie Damm with alternate Nolan Wurm were reappointed the remaining 3-year term to expire Dec 31, 2019. Board members offered a motion of support for the Cedar Area Fire & Rescue 5-year budget plan. The next PC meeting will be August 14th, 2017 at 7PM at the Centerville Twp Hall.
