Memorable, wet walk across Narrows

Another one in the book. I know I say this every year, but I really feel that this was the busiest summer I’ve ever seen here. The weather was great albeit we had a few rainstorms. To tell you the truth, seeing all the people come through Glen Arbor I have no idea where they’re all going or where they’re all staying, but they just keep coming.

The last planned Glen Lake Bridge Walk just ended and it ended very memorably. I want to thank all the diehard bridge walkers that came out, and there were a lot of them. We walked the bridge in a deluge that even some of the dogs weren’t happy about. But we did it in spite of the weather, which was in my opinion, the worst weather we’ve had for any of the bridge walks. I want to thank the Sheriff for sending a car out to help us and I want to thank the Emergency Services for sending a couple trucks out to help us with the traffic and incredibly, there was traffic. I know the emergency services guys were having a good time sitting in their dry truck laughing at the bridge walkers. All in good fun and I don’t blame them.

Janice Richards and her crew at The Compass Rose Bakery at the end did an outstanding job and people couldn’t get into the place fast enough to get out of the rain. Once we all got in the building, the rain stopped. Go figure.

Collector T-shirts are still available at Roman Jones in Empire.

There’s still a lot of summer and good weather left for all of us to enjoy. Be happy, be safe, be careful.
