Charges reduced for builder

NASH NASH A 62-year-old Acme man pleaded guilty Tuesday in 86th District Court to a charge of unlicensed residential building.

In return for his guilty plea, Gregory H. Nash will have charges of larceny by conversion $1,000 to $20,000, larceny in a building, and performing an occupation without a license dropped.

The charges stem from a case in which Nash was accused of taking more than $18,000 from an Elmwood Township woman for a construction project that was never done.

According to court records, Nash sent the woman a letter saying he had been forced to close his business. He was also accused of removing materials for the project from the woman’s garage and returning them for a cash refund.

A presentence investigation has been ordered for Nash. His sentencing has been set for Oct. 10.
